Almost RM2bil lost to commercial crime in Malaysia this year

Almost RM2bil has been lost to commercial crime in Malaysia so far this year, according to the Bukit Aman Commercial Crime Investigation Department (CCID). While the number of cases has decreased by 10% compared to last year, losses have surged by 23%. The CCID director hopes for increased awareness and cooperation between the police and society to prevent future crimes.

KUALA LUMPUR: Almost RM2bil has been lost to commercial crime so far this year, says Comm Datuk Seri Ramli Mohamed Yoosuf.

"The number of cases saw a 10% reduction compared to the same period last year, in which there were 26,033 cases.
