KUALA LUMPUR: A total of 30,893 students pursuing degrees at public institutions of higher learning for the October admission this year will be offered an advance loan (WPP) of RM1,500 each.
National Higher Education Fund Corporation chairman Datuk Norliza Abdul Rahim said this amounted to a total of RM46.34mil.
This initiative, eligible for Malaysian students whose parents or guardians are Rahmah Cash Contribution recipients, is to ensure that no student is left out from furthering their studies due to financial problems, she said in a statement on Monday .Students can check whether they are eligible for the WPP loan through the official PTPTN portal. Those eligible can redeem the loan at Bank Islam Malaysia Berhad counters nationwide between Sept 19 and Nov 18, 2023.
