CAPE TOWN - Alliance partners say they are geared up for the Congress of South African Trade Unions 's Workers' Day celebrations taking place across all nine provinces.
They say they won’t just be celebrating Workers' Day, but also use the event as a “show of force” to mobilise support for the African National Congress ahead of next month’s elections. The main Workers' Day event will be held at Cape Town’s Athlone Stadium where President Cyril Ramaphosa and COSATU president Zingiswa Losi will deliver keynote speeches.It says the celebrations will be a rallying point to mobilise workers as parties head towards the final stretch to the May 29th elections.
Organisers state that over 2,000 people from Palestinian support groups will also form part of the celebrations.
