A consultancy allegedly planned to funnel funds to federal Liberal minister Stuart Robert in return for his help in winning government contracts

A consulting company run by friends of former Liberal MP Stuart Robert allegedly established a firm to funnel money to Mr Robert in return for him using his position as a minister in the Morrison government to help the consultancy and its clients win lucrative government services contracts.

“If people are wondering why they are voting on July 15 on the Gold Coast, 110,000 voters, with the taxpayer paying millions of dollars, they should ask Mr Robert and the LNP why they’re having a by-election,” Mr Shorten said. The sworn statement to parliament’s Joint Committee of Public Accounts and Audit was made by Anthony Daly, the former husband of one of the former owners of Synergy 360, businesswoman Kham Xaysavanh. He was also a former executive director of Synergy 360.

“Stuart Robert’s political influence and connections within the government sector were deemed crucial in ensuring favourable outcomes. Kham verbally consented to David Milo proposal but was not compensated for the transfer of her shares.”“I don’t believe I have ever met Mr Daly nor spoken to him. I note he is the individual that allegedly stole the emails from Mr Milo and provided them to the media and the Labor government,” he said.

“I also reiterate that Mr Margerison and Milo have both said publicly that no payments were ever made, nor sought in any form. My Daly’s submission with zero evidence and wild accusations is rejected in its entirety, simply not believable and is outrageous.

“Importantly, I was made aware by Kham that Stuart Robert deliberately omitted the majority of these meetings from his parliamentary diary to maintain confidentiality and avoid public awareness.”
