All mosques under Jakim to hold funeral prayers for slain Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh

PUTRAJAYA: All mosques under the Islamic Development Department will perform funeral prayer s following the killing of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh by Israel.

"I am currently in Cairo and the directive has been made. We will gather the information first. If the body has already been bathed, I request all Jakim and Jawi mosques to hold the funeral prayer," he said via WhatsApp toEarlier, international news agencies reported that Israel attacked Ismail's residence in Tehran, resulting in the martyrdom of him and one of his officers.

Meanwhile, Ops Ihsan secretariat chairman Jismi Johari strongly condemned the attack saying that it proves that Israel does not desire a ceasefire as demanded by the United Nations Security Council and will not comply with international law and regulations Similarly, Malaysian Humanitarian Aid and Relief advisor Nurul Izzah Anwar also condemned the killing and added that it is a grave violation of international law and principles of sovereignty
