Texas Natural Pawz, Kriser's pet stores bought by mystery owner, source tells PETS+ Magazine
All but one of the Texas Natural Pawz and Kriser's pet stores slated to close will remain open thanks to a mystery buyer, with one Houston-area outpost still on the chopping block, a Kriser employee said Wednesday.
The 25 stores, including 19 in the Houston area, were set to close after the brands' privately held parent company, Minnesota-based Independent Pet Partners, filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy Sunday. But at least one buyer has come forward to take on some of the brand's 93 U.S.
Employees of stores in Texas have been told that all but one of the state's stores will remain open under a new owner, according to the employee who spoke on the condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak on the company's behalf. A Natural Pawz at 4529 Kingwood Drive is still slated to close, the employee said.
