Alfa Romeo's upcoming sub-compact crossover will share its underpinnings with the Jeep Avenger and the Fiat 600 models
, which may or may not be called the Brennero, in the first quarter of 2024, a set of images sent to us by an anonymous reader allegedly reveals the exterior of Alfa’s new entry-level SUV. These renderings were reportedly leaked accidentally by a UX designer who was involved in the development of digital instrument cluster graphics.
In addition to showcasing the styling, these photos also provide insights into the underpinnings of the upcoming B-SUV, which will share a platform with the Jeep Avenger and Fiat 600. At first glance, the model might be confused with the similarly-sized. Upon closer inspection, distinctive Alfa Romeo features become apparent, including the scudetto grille, phone-dial wheels, and Giulia-style bumper intakes.
The front end features split LED headlights positioned at the base of the sculpted bonnet. Notably, the scudetto grille is smaller than what’s typical for Alfa Romeo, creating space for a centrally-mounted license plate. From the profile view, you can make out the gentle bodywork lines and pronounced rear shoulders. Moving to the rear, a coupe-style rear glass stands out, complemented by a prominent wing and a secondary spoiler positioned above the slim LED taillights.
The ICE-powered Brennero may potentially share an electrified powertrain with the upcoming PHEV version of the Fiat 600. Alternatively, it could adopt the mild-hybrid turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder engine already utilized in several Peugeot and Opel models or even a non-electrified version of the same powerplant.
