, created by Amy. Though Borstein landed the role of Lorelei Gilmore’s best friend Sookie, she had to pull out of the show due to a contractual agreement with the sketch series. But she never forgot the Palladinos. “I can’t imagine my career without Dan and Amy. They’ve both been responsible for my ability to grow past sketch and animation,” Borstein says. “They had a vision. They squeeze performances out of people that they didn’t know were in there. I treasure them.
“Yeah, that was really jarring. All the muscles in our bodies were stiffened,” Borstein says of shooting the scene. “I didn’t know the extent of Susie’s betrayal until we were set to shoot. It was like cheating. It was hurtful to know that I did that to her.”
