Alessia Russo talks about England's 'surreal' Euro 2022 victory and her 'one-time wonder' goal
The past week has been the peak of Alessia Russo's football career -- scoring a viral, back-heeled goal against Sweden before coming on as a substitute as England defeated Germany to be crowned European champion for the first time.
But as the dust settles from the Lionesses' historic 2-1 victory at Wembley Stadium on Sunday, Russo insists this is"just the start" for her team and what she hopes is a bright future for women's football in England. "The final was just an unbelievable day -- the stadium, the event, having all those fans there was just surreal," the Manchester United forward tells CNN Sport.
