The Albanese government can meet the desired figures for the Murray Darling Basin Plan if they only address its constraints, says Shadow Water Minister Perin Davey.
“Unless they actually address how do you deliver that water, unless you address how you manage the water, you’re actually not going to achieve the environmental outcomes that the Basin Plan was designed to deliver,” Ms Davey told Sky News Australia.
“Our focus is on outcomes; we’re willing to work with the government to ensure we achieve those outcomes. “We’re certainly willing to work with the government to extend the deadlines to make sure the outcomes can be met.”
