Tuesday, April 10 is Alaska Mining Day, and the Alaska Miners Association is celebrating with an educational forum in Fairbanks.
The day was first recognized in 2013 through state legislation to honor the mining industry and its contributions to the history of Alaska.the event is open to members of the general public and will feature Governor Dunleavy and Senator Lisa Murkowski.
Topics covered will include the role of mining in the Interior and the 50th anniversary of Alaska Native Corporations.
