Alabama’s Caleb Downs gets trucked vs. USF, week after ‘losing lunch’ against Texas

It;s been a tough two-game stretch for the safety.

Last week, in a 34-24 loss to Texas, Alabama came out for the second half without Downs.

ESPN’s Holly Rowe revealed Downs had “lost his lunch.” Chris Fowler, who was calling the game, joked with Rowe, asking if that’s the official medical term. “One of the things to keep your eye on,” Rowe said. “Caleb Downs, their phenomenal freshman safety. He is on the sideline. He’s lost his lunch. He’s not doing well. Not sure if he can return to this game.”South Florida leads the Crimson Tide on a John Cannon 44-yard field goal..
