An Alabama man claims Country Time lemonade mix doesn’t make 8 quarts as labeled and files a class-action lawsuit against Kraft Heinz Foods.
An Alabama man has filed a class-action lawsuit against Kraft Heinz Foods over claims of deceptive trade practices and false labeling of its Country Time lemonade drink mixes.
DeMarcus Rodgers of Bessemer said the Kraft Heinz claims its 19-ounce cannisters of Country Time lemonade and pink lemonade powder drink mixes purports to make 8 quarts of lemonade per canister,However, the suit claims, the cannister only contains enough drink mix to make six quarts of lemonade if you use the recommended cannister lid as a measuring cup.
“Kraft Heinz’ statements prominently displayed on the label are untrue, misleading and likely to deceive reasonable consumers….because the cannisters do not contain enough powder drink mix to make eight quarters of lemonade or pink lemonade using the mix line in the cap,” the suit claims. The suit is seeking three times “actual damaged” to Rodgers and others impacted by the alleged deception as well as other damages. The lawsuit looks to represent anyone in the U.S. who purchased a 19-ounce canister of Country Time lemonade or pink lemonade powder drink mix, as along as it falls within the statute of limitations.
