John Andrew Bazor of Mobile called the White House switchboard on July 10 and threatened to kill President Biden, according to a complaint filed by the U.S. Secret Service.
Bazor, according to the affidavit, called the White House switchboard on July 10 at 9:37 a.m. and said, “I am coming to assassinate the president. I can’t wait to see your faces when I put a bullet in him.”The same day of the alleged call, U.S. Army Sergeant Samuel Kash notified the United States Secret Service’s Protective Intelligence Operations Center of the incident.
In 2017, according to her, Bazor was involuntary committed to Mobile Infirmary but to her knowledge, never received a diagnosis.Bazor’s mother also told agents that he was trying to get her to rent him a vehicle to travel to Washington, D.C. for an unknown reason and that she sleeps with her car keys in her pillowcase, because otherwise, Bazor will take her vehicle without permission.
However, when he was asked if he wanted to carry out the threat and why, he said that he did want to carry out the threat, but he didn’t want to harm Biden. Eventually, he said that he did want to hurt him, at which time he began to get agitated. After this interview, the Bayview Crisis Response Team was contacted for a mental health diagnosis and Bazor agreed to speak with the team and to receive treatment. Once the team arrived, however, Bazor refused to speak with the counselors and returned to his hotel room.According to the affidavit, USSS Resident Agent in Charge Britton Gardner was called to respond. Gardner, along with Bazor’s mother came along as well.
According to the affidavit, Bazor became uncooperative while approaching the vehicle and attempted to break free from the agents.
