Akron police say Jose Castro, 24, is a suspect in the abduction of 4-year-old Fabian Claudio-Castro. AKRON, Ohio — A 4-year-old boy was found unharmed Monday night after police say he was abducted by a man accused of shooting the boy’s mother.
The boy was taken at about 6:50 p.m. by a 24-year-old suspect who is the boy’s father, police say. The suspect, identified by police as Jose Castro, is wanted on charges of felonious assault and kidnapping. Police say officers were called to a residence on the 1100 block of Tulip Street after receiving multiple calls for shots fired, as well as reports of a female being shot. Police found the woman unconscious outside the residence with multiple gunshot wounds. She was in critical condition at Cleveland Clinic Akron General Hospital on Monday night.
