Part of the museum’s mission is to “promote public understanding of cultural diversity through first voice perspectives,” which is also a hoped-for outcome from tonight’s event, an evening of music, dance, and spoken word from Chicago area Indigenous artists. The program includes musician Mark Jourdan, and was curated by storyteller and poet Vincent Romero, who also happens to be a Navy veteran and a member of the Chicago Native American community.
