Lismore City Council is asking the popular food service, Koori Kitchen, to move on from its central car park location, but the charity co-founder says it is yet to find an alternative space.

A Lismore flood-recovery charity is being asked to move from a central carpark in the regional cityThe free food service is yet to find an alternative site to reopen ing quickly grew into a free food kitchen providing between 400 and 600 hot meals per day until its Christmas shut-down.

"We haven't directed them to close; we have told them we don't want them to continue operating out of the carpark," he said.Chelsea Clayton says she's been overwhelmed by community support since the news of their potential closure. Ms Clayton said the flood-affected community had relied on the service, not just for meals, but for support.

"I don't know how to explain how sad it is, to think that we won't be here to actually keep supporting them."
