ACT Chief Police Officer Neil Gaughan, who attended a 2018 meeting between AFP officers and then-home affairs minister Mr Dutton, today told a spillover Senate estimates hearing communication should have been clearer. In response, the AFP said its acting commissioner at the time provided "a verbal briefing on the investigation to the then minister for home affairs on or around 12 July 2018," the answer read.The AFP today clarified that a briefing with Peter Dutton did take place but Mr Bhojani was not named.
