Melbourne star Tayla Harris has been sidelined for the unbeaten Demons’ AFLW clash against Geelong at GMHBA Stadium on Thursday evening after straining a hamstring.
The Demons brought in Maddi Gay, who will play her 50th game, and Gab Colvin. Maeve Chaplin was dropped.For Geelong, Rachel Kearns is out because of a knee injury and Brooke Plummer has been omitted. Julia Crockett-Grills and Abbey McDonald return.
The Demons are on top of the ladder of percentage from Adelaide, while the Cats are fifth with a 3-1 record. “Tayla had some hamstring awareness towards the end of Tuesday night’s training session and scans have shown a very minor strain,” Melbourne’s general manager of football operations and AFLW Marcus Wagner said.
“While this will unfortunately rule her out of Thursday night’s game against Geelong, we are optimistic that Tayla will be available to play in round six.
