In what the Adelaide Crows claim is an Australian first, fans at Adelaide Oval will be able to buy food and drinks with cryptocurrency.
Adelaide chief executive Tim Silvers said the trial would start with tonight’s match and be in operation for all AFL games at Adelaide Oval for the rest of the 2024 season.It will see select food and drink kiosks in the Southern Stand have the facilities to accept crypto payments from Crypto.com customers in real-time.
“We are always looking for ways to collaborate with our partners to deliver new initiatives, such as this one, to our members and fans,” Silvers said. “Whether it’s membership offerings or in this case purchasing food and beverage on game day, we also want to give our supporters the opportunity to choose what best suits them.”The Crows and coach Matthew Nicks desperately need a win. It’s too early to write-off their season if they drop tonight’s opening game of Gather Round and sink to zero-four, but that stat doesn’t read well across history when it comes to making finals.
