AEON Bank, Malaysia’s first Islamic digital bank, has announced a strategic partnership with Visa.

In a joint statement, the parties revealed that the partnership will commence with the launch of the Aeon Bank x Visa Debit Card-i and will soon expand to include various digital payment solutions. These solutions aim to cater to the growing interest among Malaysian consumers seeking safe and reliable cashless transactions and digital banking solutions that adhere to Shariah banking principles.
She emphasised that this partnership would enable customers to enjoy a wide range of benefits through Visa’s extensive network of merchants and partners, while also offering Shariah-compliant solutions to Malaysians from all walks of life. Ng Kong Boon, Visa country manager for Malaysia, highlighted the rapid evolution of the payments industry, consumer demands, and payment technologies. He expressed excitement about partnering with Aeon Bank to evolve with the changing landscape and develop the next generation of products and solutions. This strategic partnership aims to support the next phase of growth for Aeon Bank and transform the way Malaysians pay and are paid.
