Adil Abbas is the second food delivery worker to die in Sydney in the past month, prompting calls for reform of NSW's road rules.

Three weeks later, the UberEats food delivery rider was killed when his motorbike collided with a ute in Campbelltown, in Sydney's south-west.

"They are allowed to drive on their overseas licence … for long hours without knowing the Australian conditions," he said. "That must include road safety training before they are allowed to work for the platform, and provide the rider with a training record, which verifies they have successfully completed induction training."The Transport Workers Union said Mr Abbas is the thirteenth food delivery rider known to have died in Australia since 2017.
