SHAH ALAM: The inquest into the death of fireman Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim has been adjourned to next week.
Judge Rofiah Mohamad, who sits as coroner for the inquest, decided to postpone today’s inquest sitting, as witness Dr Shahrom Abd Wahid was unable to make it to the court on Friday .Dr Shahrom was brought in by lawyer Syazlin Mansor, who is representing the Housing and Local Government Ministry, Fire and Rescue Department, and Muhammad Adib's family at the inquest, to assist with the investigation into the fireman's death.
Deputy public prosecutor Faten Hadni Khairuddin, who is the inquest conducting officer, said that forensics experts Datuk Dr Mohd Shah Mahmood and Dr Ahmad Hafizam Hasmi might be called back after Dr Shahrom.The coroner's court will sit again on Tuesday at the Shah Alam Sessions Court. Muhammad Adib, 24, became critically injured in the early morning of Nov 27 after he and his team members from the Subang Jaya fire station responded to an emergency call at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple, where a riot was taking place.
The fireman was taken to SJMC after he was found injured, before being transferred to the National Heart Institute for further treatment, where he later died on Dec 17, at 9.41pm.
