PRESIDENT Ferdinand Marcos Jr.
has ordered the Commission on Higher Education and other pertinent government agencies to immediately address the shortage of medical workers in the country, particularly nurses.The Chief Executive issued the directive during his meeting with the Private Sector Advisory Council's Healthcare Sector in Malacañang last Wednesday.'We have to be clever about the health care manpower.
Under the nursing curriculum with exit credentials, students are given several options: exit at the end of Level I or II, obtain the certificate or diploma in Nursing, or choose to continue and finish the four-year nursing program to become a registered nurse, de Vera noted.The CHEd chief also said the agency is putting together a flexible short-term masteral program to address the lack of instructors in nursing and medical schools.
