The government is implementing additional measures to ensure the stability of sugar supply in Sabah, Sarawak, and Labuan. This is due to the limited number of sugar manufacturers operating in Peninsular Malaysia responsible for meeting the country's sugar demand.

“Kementerian juga akan menjalin kerjasama dengan pihak berkuasa pelabuhan untuk membantu dan menyegerakan pelepasan kapal bagi barangan kawalan termasuk gula, terutama yang melibatkan permintaan yang dibuat oleh mana-mana pemborong di Sabah. Sejak awal 2024, Armizan berkata kementerian telah menjalankan operasi yang diberi nama Ops Kristal yang bertujuan memantau dan memeriksa status bekalan gula setiap hari, sama ada di peringkat borong dan runcit.
