Adama Sanogo is one of three UConn players who observe Ramadan, thus they will face a challenge before Saturday’s game against Miami.
The players will not eat or drink from sunup to sundown. Saturday’s semifinal is scheduled for 7:49 p.m., which is approximately 10 minutes after the sun sets. Sanogo said he actually plays better during Ramadan, but he will try to take in fluids and something light between sundown and gametime. Last week in Las Vegas, both UConn games started before sundown, so Sanogo, who is the Huskies’ starting center, had to begin games without having anything to eat or drink since early in the morning.
