NRL: Listen in to the referee mic as Brisbane Bronco Ezra Mam makes a formal complaint against Sydney Roosters' Spencer Leniu.
Broncos players reportedly confronted Roosters prop Spencer Leniu only hours after Ezra Mam alleged he aimed a racial slur at him on the field during the Las Vegas season opener.the players came face-to-face early in the morning, with centre Kotoni Staggs and lock Pat Carrigan involved in a heated verbal exchange with Leniu.
Leniu, though, has denied wrong-doing, telling Triple M post-match he was “not worried at all” by the incident and claimed it was “nothing”. “If Spencer Leniu is found guilty of saying what’s been alleged, I think he’s facing a very, very long holiday on the sidelines. Johnathan Thurston said on Channel 9 post game that he’d heard Mam was “in tears” over the incident and Rothfield echoed his comments.
“He was in tears after the game, he is a really proud Indigenous man and I spoke to a couple of players last night and long after the team got back to the hotel here.
