PETALING JAYA: Care and protection have been provided to a toddler, who was abused by her mother's lover, says the Women, Family and Community Development Ministry.
The ministry said the girl, who suffered multiple injuries to her face and back, is currently receiving treatment at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.
“The government will not compromise with any offences involving the rights and welfare of children in accordance with the Children's Act 2001,” the ministry said in a statement on Friday .The girl, two, was reported to have suffered a bruised lip, swollen left and right eye sockets as well as swelling on her back.
