Authorities are now locating all the security personnel of slain Negros Oriental Gov. Roel Degamo to explain their reported absence during the March 4 brazen attack in Pamplona town.
Police Col. Jean Fajardo, spokesperson of the Philippine National Police , said the concerned security personnel both came from the police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines .
The statement was in reaction to the information posted by Sen. JV Ejercito on social media that five of the six security personnel assigned to Degamo did not report when the gun attack occurred that led to his death and eight other people. Four of the around 10 gunmen who carried out the attack were already arrested—all of them turned out to be former soldiers.
Fajardo said the investigation on the killing of Degamo is already nearing completion, with the help of the arrested gunmen who have already started sharing information that include as to who ordered the hit.
