PETALING JAYA: The Asian Badminton Championships (ABC) could return to its original host city Wuhan, China, if circumstances permit.
The continental flagship tournament, supposed to take place this week, was initially relocated to Manila after Wuhan, the epicentre of the Covid-19 outbreak, was placed under lockdown on Jan 23.
Badminton Asia, the tournament rights holder will be keen to hold the meet as it could still continue be part of the remaining Olympic qualifiers that was stalled since mid-March due to the pandemic. If the ABC returns to the BWF schedule, the Badminton Asia could possibly hand the host job back to Wuhan.
