It wasn’t a sharp day for Rodgers even beyond an interception by safety Tony Adams.
Wes Schweitzer — not rookie second-round pick Joe Tippman — looks like the leading contender to challenge returning three-year starting center Connor McGovern. But Schweitzer misfired two shotgun snaps, including one that sailed over Rodgers’ head and led to a broken-play incompletion. Head coach Robert Saleh indicated that he wants to settle on a starter shortly after the Aug. 12 game against the Panthers.
The defensive line beat the offensive line all the way across the depth chart. Carl Lawson had a “sack” with the starters and Will McDonald had one against Mekhi Becton with the second-teamers. Offensive line remains a big concern with left tackle Duane Brown sidelined.It wasn’t a sharp day for Rodgers even beyond the interception.
