This defeat prevented Aaron-Wooi Yik from giving their coach Tan Bin Shen a farewell gift before his departure to Hong Kong.
A disappointed Aaron stated, 'We did not play well today. We made many unforced errors and could not keep the pressure on our opponents.' Commenting on playing under coach Tan Bin Shen for the last time, Aaron said, 'We are disappointed that we could not go far in this tournament under Bin Shen, but we have achieved other results such as winning bronze at the Olympic Games, so we are satisfied.
