You talk about training camp in Hiram, where the players stayed in the college dorms with no air conditioning. “I remember looking at some of those guys when I was in the huddle,” you say. “Hard to believe I was there with them.” Radio analyst Doug Dieken is honored for his contributions to the team in the final home game of the 2021 season.“Are you kidding?” you say. “I loved it. The relationships … Some of those guys I played with have been my friends for life. The offensive linemen especially are close. No one else really understands what we go through.”
