The Houston Police Department recently escorted Clutch City Cruisers' weekly bike ride, a week after a brick was thrown at a motorist
"Abide by the laws," Finner said."I've seen some groups that block up everything. I've also seen some drivers that are disregarding the biker laws. So everyone has to do their part."The group bike ride Thursday started as normal, with a few changes imposed by Clutch City Cruiser's leadership.
Houston police could not immediately say why the riders were handcuffed or if they were criminally charged."Everybody's having fun, you can see everyone having a good time, but cops kind of tried to ruin that," West said."But at the same time, it is what it is.""I love riding with them," Le said."For the most part, you got kids out here. Families out here. But with everything, there are always a few knuckleheads.
"I saw a couple of riders got arrested, I don't know what they did," Le said."But it's just like anything — if you're looking for trouble, you'll find trouble. And they found trouble." "When it comes to the actual policing of the group, that's something that has to be established by the group themselves because the police's presence alone changes the vibe of the ride, and encourages smaller rides the police can't control," Joseph said.
