Screen Rant's Assassin's Creed Mirage preview.
Assassin's Creed Mirage is a true return to the series' best years, and it's taking a leap of faith in that proven formula to carry a modern reimagining of what was so compelling in the first iterations of the assassin and templar conflict. There's not enough available yet to know if it's going to stick the landing, but from what Screen Rant saw in a demo build during a hands-on preview, the innovation and excitement is there.
The surrounding cast for Basim was much less fleshed-out in the preview, though that was by design. It's clear there will be several key players in Basim's story, but they simply weren't major factors during gameplay. The cast is diverse and intriguing from what we saw, with Roshan already a bright spot in limited exposure.
Infiltration was the first major section of gameplay during the preview that offered multiple options for completion, and each felt viable - though we did eventually make too many mistakes and had to rely on combat to get Basim out. Prior to that, though, it was fun to set up patrols walking past tall grass, or using throwing knives to take care of weaker enemies from afar.
