A tin of chocolate from the South African War just sold for R9,000
The Rowntree's chocolate was ordered by Queen Victoria, to be sent to British soldiers fighting in the South African War.

The manufacturers refused to have their logos on the tins, but Victoria insisted her soldiers must know that the chocolates were of high quality, so the interior packaging of the chocolate pieces was branded.
