Progress in Dead Man's Curve renovations
Published: Aug. 26, 2024 at 6:32 PM EDTCLEVELAND, Ohio - For years our 19 News crews have been on scenes of horrific accidents that have happened on or near Dead Man’s curve.Jim Sweeney is the author of a book called“I’ve run into people who just refuse to drive it,” said Sweeney. “They’ll take surface roads or they just wont cross to one side of the city to another, because it just scares them that badly”.
“When it opened in 1962 the speed limit was 50mph,” explained Sweeney. “There were no lights, no signs, no rumble strips, it wasn’t banked. So the state has added all of these safety measures over the decades as they realize how much of a problem it is”.
