But magic can come from musicians you’ve never heard of. And even Big Names have off nights. Repeat performances of this program get a strong “buy” recommendation. But may I tell you how much I hate the DSO’s current practice of seating all the musicians on the flat stage? Maybe it’s OK for listeners in upper tiers, but on the orchestra floor winds are muffled when violins are playing. At least in the Haydn, horns seemed to be somewhere in Klyde Warren Park.
