The sale of a luxurious holiday home in Flinders that settled for $26.75 million this week has shone a spotlight on Melbourne’s ‘other’ holiday playground.
The home has gardens designed by renowned landscape architect Paul Bangay, a vineyard and a tennis court.
The key market was for buyers close to retirement, aged 60 or older, he said looking for a holiday home or weekender. But there are now cashed-up younger families moving in. Bongiorno said the market, which had boomed as buyers flocked to the peninsula to escape lockdown, was quietening down. The property, which includes six hectares of land and a barn, has had interest from local and international buyers, he said.
