Sarah and Jacob eventually decided they wanted to raise their children elsewhere and settled in the Lethbridge suburb of Nobleford in 2014.
Roger and his wife Sandra had raised cattle on the land north of Glendon for 30 years and had nine children together, several of whom settled on farms nearby. The Bilodeaus claim this was the start of a life-or-death struggle. They said Jacob tried to pull Joseph from the cab and strangle Roger.
