The Wallabies should trawl club rugby for talent instead of being latched to existing contracts - and then win the next World Cup.
, September 28). Humans don’t improve the environment, we selfishly destroy, along with much of the native flora and fauna. At least the wildlife demonstrates good neighbourly manners and stays outside. My wildlife critter decided to set up home under the kitchen fridge unbeknownst to me. He grew most upset when I started cleaning his “habitat” two days ago, so popped out his head and flicked his forked tongue at me through the fridge grille to complain.
Every night their snouts, in pursuit of worms, leave the yard looking like a miniature mining site. Don’t get me started on the possums that have just discovered my vegie garden and 20-year-old roses. Both closed in 1983/4.
Perhaps this could be the first time ever that we can usefully justify a “fact finding” trip for a couple of our brighter planning folk to go and learn whatever lessons Battersea can teach us expedite renewal. Otherwise, we face decades more of disuse and decay, and a huge missed opportunity for the inner west and city as a whole.
How many of us have seen the inside of one of these giants, especially one which has had a central role in Sydney’s transport? London has the shell of its Bankside , the instantly recognisable Battersea , the Hanworth Road and stunning Crossness pumping stations, both of which work.
