It could be time to head down to Aldi, as Haysmith’s Rhubarb and Ginger gin has ranked number one in the world as part of the International Wine and Spirits Competition 🍹
gin has officially been ranked as one of the best in the world.
It was given the accolade in the spirits category at the prestigious International Wine and Spirits Competition .scored 98 points and achieved a Gold Outstanding marker. Although it costs less than £15, Aldi’s bottle beat Edinburgh Gin’s Rhubarb & Ginger flavour, which retails at around double the price of the supermarket bottle.
Judges described the Aldi gin as ‘magnificently well balanced with full, rich flavours of mouth-watering rhubarb, fiery ginger and chaste juniper.’The discount supermarket picked up a total of 17 awards at the contest. Its Glen Marnoch Limited Edition Highland Single Malt Scotch Whisky , also won a gold medal and was praised for its ‘lovely soft texture and solid length.
