Assistant Treasurer Stephen Jones says there are signs internationally that things are “starting to improve” when it comes to inflation.

“There are things that we can point to around the globe and around the country that say, look, we think we’ve seen the worst and it might start to improve from here,” he told Sky News Australia.

“Of course the independent Reserve Bank is going to look at these figures and respond as it sees necessary for its part in monetary policy.”
