SEREMBAN: Eighty-one mosques and surau in Negri Sembilan have been given permission to hold Hari Raya Aidilfitri and Friday prayers.
Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Department director Mohd Zaidi Ramli said all the concerned mosques and surau committees must still adhere to the regulations of the conditional movement control order .
Nineteen of the mosques allowed to hold prayers are in Seremban, Jempol has 17, Tampin , Kuala Pilah , and Jelebu, Rembau and Port Dickson .The four surau also given the green light to proceed with prayers are Nasimul Hikmah in Taman Sri Pulai, Surau al-Hidayah in Taman Mutiara Galla, Surau al-Taufiqiah in Taman Pinggiran Senawang , and Surau al-Ehsaniah in Taman Intan Perdana .
Apart from these, the department is also allowing the Surau al-Khusyu' located at the Balai Tunku Besar Tampin to hold Hari Raya Aidilfitri prayers. The Negri Sembilan Islamic Affairs Council had last week agreed to allow selected mosques and surau to hold prayers after getting the consent of the Yang di-Pertuan Besar of Negri Sembilan, Tuanku Muhriz Tuanku Munawir, the four state Undang and the Tunku Besar of Tampin.
However, the number of people allowed to attend these prayers will be limited to between four and 12, and they must only be committee members and officials of the mosque or surau.
