Divergent is certainly worth the watch for those who desire more vicious worlds like The Hunger Games' Panem. The film depicts a futuristic Chicago, however, the changes in society are major and make for an interesting story to parse through, especially when it comes to Tris' induction into the Dauntless faction. Additionally, Divergent features another strong heroine that is similar to Katniss in her dedication to fixing the world around her but also to simply surviving it.

The Ender's Game film adaptation has a star-studded cast including Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Viola Davis, Abigail Breslin and Hailee Steinfeld. Along with its science fiction setting, it also presents high stakes and a shocking twist that changes the main character completely. It also offers looks into interesting technology in regard to space combat and has various themes that are relevant to the real world.
2 The Giver Though The Giver movie didn't come out until 2013, the story, written by Lois Lowry, has been in circulation and entrancing audiences since 1993. The Giver follows Jonas, a young man who is training to be the next Receiver of Memories. In his world, individuals do not see color, feel desire, or remember the past. Only the Receiver of Memories remembers, and as Jonas comes closer to this role, he learns about the true horrors of his society.
