TUJUH sasterawan negara menerima Elaun Penghargaan Bulanan RM5,000 sebagai menghargai sumbangan mereka menaikkan martabat Bahasa Melayu dalam perkembangan kesusasteraan tanah air.
Mereka ialah Dr A. Samad Said; Profesor Emeritus Dr Muhammad Haji Salleh; Noordin Hassan; Dr Mohd Anuar Rethwan; Dr Ahmad Khamal Abdullah; Dr Baharuddin Zainal; dan Dr Zurinah Hassan.
