A 62-year-old man was arrested in connection with the fatal shooting of a man last week near a West Dallas elementary school, according to an arrest-warrant affidavit obtained Monday. Nigel Jacobs was jailed Thursday on a murder charge in the slaying of Eric Bernard Reed, 38. Jacobs’ attorney could not immediately be reached for comment.
Jacobs and Reed were driving toward each other Wednesday about 3:05 p.m. when Jacobs stopped near the intersection of Bickers and Harston streets,Jacobs rolled down his window and shot at Reed, and Reed drove down the road to the 1900 block of Bayside Street before he crashed, according to the affidavit. Jacobs drove away, and Reed was taken to a hospital, where he died, the affidavit said.
