A six-year-old Queensland boy will soon receive a critical bone marrow transplant after it was delayed when the material was left on an airport tarmac in the United States.

Matoeh Eggleton suffers from a rare genetic disorder and has been waiting months for the transplant which is now set to take place on March 13 in Brisbane.

On Thursday he will be isolated for 100 days for the best chance of survival – while his mother is investigating how the airport-delay incident occurred.
