Menteri Kesihatan Khairy Jamaluddin berkata jumlah kumulatif kes varian Omicron Covid-19 dikesan di Malaysia kini sebanyak 122 kes melibatkan 117 kes import dan lima kes penularan tempatan. – Gambar fail The Malaysian Insight, 4 Januari, 2022.

SEBANYAK 58 kes positif Covid-19 disahkan varian Omicron dengan 54 kes jangkitan import manakala empat kes penularan tempatan, kata Menteri Kesihatan Khairy Jamaluddin. Beliau berkata hasil jujukan genom penuh yang dijalankan oleh Institut Penyelidikan Perubatan , empat kes penularan tempatan dilaporkan di Kedah yang dipercayai mendapat jangkitan daripada seorang jemaah umrah yang positif Covid-19 varian Omicron.
