53 pesawat tentera China ceroboh ruang udara Taiwan
TAIPEI : Sebanyak 53 pesawat tentera dan 19 kapal milik China dikesan menghampiri Taiwan dalam tempoh 24 jam, berikutan tindakan Beijing melancarkan mobilisasi maritim terbesar dalam tempoh beberapa tahun.
Jumlah itu merupakan angka harian tertinggi sejak rekod 153 pesawat dilaporkan pada 15 Oktober lalu, susulan latihan ketenteraan berskala besar China sebagai tindak balas kepada ucapan Presiden Taiwan, Lai Ching-te sempena Hari Kebangsaan. Beijing kini dipercayai mengerahkan sekitar 90 kapal sepanjang rantaian pulau pertama yang merangkumi Okinawa, Taiwan dan Filipina yang dianggap sebagai latihan maritim terbesar negara itu dalam beberapa tahun.
Jurucakap Kementerian Luar China menegaskan negara itu akan ‘mempertahankan kedaulatan secara tegas,’ sambil menolak spekulasi mengenai kemungkinan Beijing mengadakan latihan ketenteraan sebagai reaksi terhadap lawatan Ching-te ke Amerika Syarikat minggu lalu.
